SaskWater is raising rates for rural water customers in Saskatchewan over the next two years.
SaskWater says rates for rural customers in the Buffalo Pound area are rising seven per cent.
In the Saskatoon area, rates are jumping 9.5 per-cent this year and 9.25 per-cent in 2018.
All other customers will see increases ranging from two per cent to 4.5 per-cent.
SaskWater estimates the average impact to households receiving drinking water will be 7 dollars 32 cents per month this year and 7 dollars 53 cents a month in 2018.
SaskWater serves about 48 thousand rural customers.
