Darian Durant was throwing bombs on Friday afternoon at his old team.
The long-time Riders quarterback was a guest of Rod Pedersen on 620 CKRM’s Sportscage to discuss his trade to the Montreal Alouettes last week and the events behind it.
Durant said comments made in a Regina Leader-Post article by Chris Jones after the season ended in which Jones referred to him as “moderately successful” while pinning the blame on a 5 win season on his shoulders was unfair and something he has never seen before in his time as a pro football player.
“Some things were said about me personally that were uncalled for,” Durant said. “To blame all the losses or wins if you want on one guy was the last straw.”
Durant doesn’t know when the Alouettes will be in Regina to play the Riders, but he says the day will be circled on his calendar and he will be ready.
