The Regina Pats edged the Swift Current Broncos 6-5 in a back and forth WHL affair in Swift Current Saturday night.
Regina led the game 3-2 after one period of play, but the Broncos went into the final 20 minutes with a 5-4 lead.
Dawson Leedahl’s 21st goal of the year on the power-play tied the game at 5 with six minutes to play with Connor Hobbs getting the winner when he scored his 20th of the campaign with four and a half minutes to go.
The goal by Hobbs means 6 Pats have registered at least 20 goals this season with Austin Wagner sitting at 19 and Jake Leschyshyn at 17.
The win was Regina’s 30th of the season and leaves them with a record of 30-6-6-1, four better than Moose Jaw with Regina holding four games in hand.
The Pats will finish a three game in three day weekend Sunday afternoon as the Brandon Wheat Kings visit in a 4 o’clock start with the pre-game show beginning at 3:35 on 620 CKRM
