The Riders have released four players-four that were due to become free agents in a few weeks.
The four are quarterback Mitchell Gale, running back Curtis Steele, receiver Shawmaud Chambers and defensive lineman Dylan Ainsworth.
Gale made three starts for the Riders in his one season with the green-and-white throwing for 950 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
Steele came to the Riders as a free agent from Toronto and ran for 314 yards in 11 games while Chambers hauled in 25 passes for 269 yards last year after coming to Saskatchewan as a free agent after playing his entire CFL career with Edmonton.
Ainsworth was the Riders 2nd round draft choice, 11th overall in 2014, but did not play last year due to an injury suffered in training camp
