There will be a public open house Monday night for residents to learn about upcoming sewage-main work in Regina.
Starting mid-February, construction will begin on the addition of a third sewage force main, from the McCarthy Boulevard Pumping Station to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
This work is expected to help reduce the severity of basement flooding during heavy rain events.
A large-diameter pipe will increase the volume of sewage which can be pumped to the Plant from the Pumping Station.
It will also help protect the environment by reducing the possibility of bypassing effluent into Wascana Creek and other open water.
