So today is the kick off for White Cane Week which is the national initiative that puts visual impairment into the spotlight. We kicked it in the traditional sense of us here in the media against bowled against members of The Canadian Council of the Blind which when you read that sentence honestly sounds mean. Thing is though are really good at bowling and I am usually not that good. Usually I’m pretty bad at bowling but today I managed to get off to a nice start picking up to strikes in a row and even a spare. I was even “accused” quite playfully by my bowling partners of throwing gutter balls on purpose and that they wanted to beat me fair and square.
Thing is that couldn’t be farther from the truth. See I’m just that bad at bowling in that I can go from two strikes in a row to a nice row of nothing but 2 pins and gutters. I’m not hot and cold, I’m more volcanic and glacier. So even though I did well by my standards I’m not that good a bowling. A toddler could beat me with me giving it my all.
