It was a pleasure to attend the Queen City Kinsmen Celebrity Sport Dinner last night at the Conexus Arts Centre – main stage!
While Kin Clubs are prepping for their 41st annual TeleMiracle early in March, you have to ask, “What’s One More Event!”
Supporters of the Kinsmen, Big Brothers of Regina as well as sport fans in general gathered to raise money for Big Brothers through live and silent auctions as well as 50/50.
I was waiting to hear Dennis Hull. (Oh, I did do some bidding and the 50/50 too)
Love Anthony Calvillo! Now that he’s not playing, but I have heard AC speak on his life and lessons, plus his mentoring. It is a great messaged that wants to pass along.
Dennis on the other hand! I’ve heard so many great things about his “presentation!”
As he said, when Michael Ball asked ” did you take any training to be a comic”.
“No, I come from a big family of 12 – you learn pretty quick to be a wise guy.”
That is perhaps some of the banter I can a) remember or b) can repeat!
Rob Bagg, Wes Cates, Nik Lewis, Andrew Greene just a few of the guys that were in attendance to help raise money for Big Brothers. Plus other sport personalities.
Make sure you mark this light-hearted event down for next year.
Thanks also to the Queen City Kinsmen for planning Safe Rides home for those that needed it.
Mentorship is an important part of life, someone is always watching you. Lead by example when you can.
Have a great weekend.
