Unions in Saskatchewan representing health-care providers are telling the government a report into long-term care homes shows the need for more frontline staff.
CUPE is one of those three unions.
Spokesperson Gordon Campbell says his is a time when more workers than ever before are needed.
- CUPE says no need to rush Saskatchewan healthcare reform panel
- Healthcare union not impressed with new health deal struck by Saskatchewan government
Campbell says talk of possible job cuts in healthcare don’t make sense.
Campbell says his union wants to know what the government will do to make sure seniors are getting the quality care they deserve — especially if cuts are made.
He says this puts additional stress on workers who are already overworked and need relief.
