Make it 11 straight wins for the Regina Pats, who ended their three game Alberta road swing with a 4-3 overtime victory last night in Red Deer.
Former Rebel Josh Mahura scored the winner, and Adam Brooks recorded three points (1G, 2A’s) for the Pats, who officially punched their ticket to the WHL playoffs with a win Friday in Edmonton.
With the win the Pats also picked up their 21st victory on the road, which is now the most in franchise history, surpassing the 20 recorded in 1979-80 and 1983-84.
The club also reached the 40 win mark in record time doing it in just 53 games, the previous record was 57 set in 1980-81.
The Pats will return home to face the Everett Silvertips on Tuesday for their only meeting of the season.
