A great musician, a great poet, and a man with plenty of curiosity around Jesus and religion.
That’s the description Rabbi Claudio Jodorkovsky from Congregation Agudas Israel in Saskatoon gives about Leonard Cohen as he prepares to sit down with Archbishop of the Diocese of Regina Donald Bolen to discuss Cohen’s work and how it relates to life.
Rabbi Jodorkovsky feels a lot of people should be able to relate to Cohen and his experience with religion because he shared his doubts about religion, and questioned the world and God.
Archbishop Bolen says the lyrics Cohen used in some songs really depict the story of Jesus and what his life was about.
He noted Come Healing as an example because it refers to his birth, death, and resurrection .
The takes place Monday night at Saskatoon’s Holy Family Cathedral.
