Some in Maple Creek may have actually had to look at the calendar to make sure it is mid-February .
It feels more like mid-June in the southwest Saskatchewan town Wednesday as they are enjoying a day that saw the high come close to 20 degrees.
Environment Canada says Maple Creek has the distinction of being Canada’s warm spot at 18.4 degrees Celsius. That breaks the previous record of 10.4 degrees set in 1998.
Moose Jaw and Swift Current also set daily high records, but Regina did not.
It is expected with temperatures to get well above zero for the rest of the week before cooling off a little on the weekend that several records will be broke across the province across the next couple of days.
