The owner of a Regina bike shop would like to see members of city council ride bikes to and from work this summer to see what hazards cyclists face.
Fred Vandenlinden of Dutch Cycle is even offering to donate bikes for the mayor and city council to use.
One city councillor is up for the idea. Andrew Stevens says he spends a lot of time on his bike and knows the dangers faced.
Stevens, who is an avid biker, feels this would be a great thing to do saying other councillors should participate so they can see the cycling infrastructure first-hand.
That being said. Stevens says his council colleagues are cognizant of this fact and Mayor Michael Fougere has said there are several projects underway to make things better for cyclists, and that there is a need for safer bike routes.
