Regina Pats forward Nick Henry has been named the WHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 26, 2017.
Henry registered 10 points (3G-7A) in four games to help the Pats go 3-0-1-0 this past week with seven of those points coming in back-to-back home games against Swift Current Friday and Sunday.
A 17-year-old product of Portage la Prairie, MB, Henry ranks first among all WHL rookies in scoring with 74 points (31G-43A) in 61 games.
The 6-foot, 190-pound right winger is eligible for the 2017 NHL Draft and was ranked 25th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting in its midterm rankings.
Henry’s selection marks the sixth time this season a Regina Pat has earned WHL Player of the Week honours. Sam Steel (October 2), Connor Hobbs (November 6), Adam Brooks (November 13, January 1) and Sergey Zborovskiy (December 4) have all previously been recognized.
The Pats will be home to face the Lethbridge Hurricanes Tuesday night in a 7 o’clock start.
