Being physically active is vital to ones health.
On Wednesday Saskatchewan In Motion launched the Go Out & Play Challenge, powered by the Saskatchewan Blue Cross.
Kendall Longtin with Saskatchewan In Motion said the challenge allows communities to work together to become more physically fit, with the motivation of prizes up for grabs as well.
“We’ve put this challenge out to communities across Saskatchewan and community associations to take on the challenge from March 1 to 10 to try and log as many physical activities as they can as a community or community association,” Longtin said.
To create a profile to track your minutes, go to Challenge.Saskatchewan-In-Motion.ca.
Longtin said if your community is not in the challenge this year, you can still sign up and add your logged minutes to the community of your choice.
Prizes this year include a $10,000 community grand prize and $5,000 runner-up prize.
Last year’s winner was Churchbridge, who’s 743 residents logged over 395,000 minutes.
Twenty-six communities and two community associations are competing in this year’s challenge.
