Just before I came to this page to write the blog for the day I was doing some online banking and marveling at how wonderfully easy it is to bank nowadays.
I just love the fact that the only trip I make to the bank to see and talk to an actual teller is when I need to get some foreign currency for a trip we might be taking. Other than that, it’s all at my fingertips! It’s not that I couldn’t use the exercise walking to the bank everyday, but….I wish I knew how to finish this sentence without sounding too lazy.
I still remember when Craig Wallabeck was working here in our newsroom. Once a month Evans and I would give him a hard time for walking into the station with his bills, all sticking about 6 inches out of the top of his shirt pocket! Cool! What a chick magnet! Hey handsome, is that a bill in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
Hey, we loved Craig when he worked here and we still do. It just seemed so odd that someone would actually walk around downtown to pay bills when they could do it all at their computer in a fraction of the time. In all fairness, Craig had a very valid excuse for not using online banking. He said he didn’t trust it and I don’t think he’s alone in that assessment. He might have a point. It seems no site is safe from hackers nowadays.
Until I have some kind of an incident that changes my view on online banking I’ll be right here, paying bills with the tips of my fingers! Just the way the online banking gurus intended banking to be!
