The federal budget and the provincial budget are going to happen on the same day.
Saskatchewan finance minister Kevin Doherty had announced a few weeks ago he would bring down what is expected to be an unpopular budget two weeks from tomorrow, and on Tuesday afternoon, federal finance minister Bill Morneau announced his second budget would come down on the same day.
The federal budget will be one that insiders say will include a heavy focus on skills training in response to a rapidly-changing workforce.
With little room left for new spending, the 2017 budget is expected to be a stay-the-course document that will provide new detail on existing government plans for infrastructure spending, innovation and research and a review of federal tax credits.
If you are wondering whether or not, the provincial government would change the date of its budget, Doherty told reporters that won’t be happening.
