Thirteen students from six different First Nations around the province are about to graduate from a new project the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations hopes will end the First Nations housing shortage in Saskatchewan.
Together FSIN and Your Choice Homes Inc. announced a partnership to build tiny homes on the 74 FSIN First Nations around the province.
The 13 students involved in the pilot project have just finished building a “tiny home” prototype.
During their time building the home they learned a skilled trade and even received their own paycheque.
FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron is ready to take the program to a national level after seeing it’s early success.
The 13 students involved will graduate from the project on March 26.
