NDP leader Trent Wotherspoon is telling the Wall government to suspend plans to cut wages of government workers by 3.5 per-cent.
Instead, he wants to see five fewer MLA’s and cabinet ministers to receive a 20 per-cent cut in bonus salaries.
The Wall government wants to balance the budget.
Economy minister Jeremy Harrison says the government has led by example.
He points to a cut in cabinet travel expenses by 70 per-cent, a 3.5 per-cent wage drop for MLA’s, and a further proposed 10 per-cent cut in caucus office budgets for the SaskParty and NDP.
