Philip Chicoine, 28, of Saskatoon is facing charges related to his involvement in child pornography in the Philippines and Romania.
The investigation began in early February, after child pornography was uploaded to a social media account that was operated by Chicoine.
The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant of his Saskatoon home on Thursday, where they seized evidence in relation to the investigation.
Police believe Chicoine has arranged access to video and has live-streamed child pornography before in the Philippines and Romania, with help from a number of female suspects in those countries.
According to a news release, the female suspects in Romania have been arrested and charged, and authorities confirm the children are now safe. The investigation in the Philippines is ongoing.
Philip Chicoine has been charged with: possessing child pornography; accessing child pornography; three counts of distributing child pornography; eight counts of agreeing to commit a sexual offence against a child; two counts of luring a child; and four counts of making child pornography.
Chicoine was arrested and appeared in Saskatchewan provincial court in Saskatoon Friday morning.
He was remanded for a show-cause hearing on next Monday 2 p.m.
