For more than 30 years, the Canadian Red Cross’ disaster response program has been helping Saskatchewanians in need, and a big reason why they can is due to the funds raised in its annual Great Saskatchewan Lottery.
Monika Zmetana, provincial gaming coordinator for the Canadian Red Cross, says buying a ticket is a win-win situation.
This year, the Red Cross has $100,000 cash and a $10,000 dream vacation as its grand prize, along with $50,000 cash and three other vacations up for grabs. The lottery also features a 50/50 draw and scratch-and-win tickets.
Zmetana says the proceeds raised stay in Saskatchewan, and can mean food, clothing or shelter for those victims of a natural disaster.
The first deadline to purchase tickets is April 22 at midnight.
The early bird deadline is June 7.
