The Regina Pats are re-writing their record book
Wednesday’s 6-2 win over Swift Current was their 50th of the season breaking the franchise record for wins set by the 1980-81 team.
Adam Brooks and Sam Steel each had three points for the winners who have now won six in a row leading into a season-ending weekend home and home series with the Brandon Wheat Kings that starts Friday at the Brandt Centre.
Connor Hobbs also scored for Regina giving him 30 on the season tying him with John Miner for most goals by a defenceman in a season with Miner doing it in the 1984-85 season.
Before the game, the latest Canadian Hockey League rankings came out and it showed Regina had moved up one spot to number 2 with the top junior team in Canada being the Quebec League’s Saint John Seadogs.
