University degrees will now be available to La Ronge residents.
Bronwyn Eyre, Advanced Education Minister, says Northlands College, in collaboration with an advisory committee, will deliver university programming in La Ronge.
Eyre says the advisory committee will be made up of three institutes.
“There will be an advisory board, made up of Northlands, of course – Gabriel Dumont Institue,” says Eyre. “The U of S and the U of R are going to be the two degree-granting institutions.”
Eyre says the ministry will work with Northlands College to ensure all currently enrolled NORTEP Council students experience minimal changes, with the intention that students be able to finish their programs under the same terms and conditions they had when they entered.
The transition will take place on August 1st.
