Moose Jaw residents will soon be paying more for utitlities.
The city is raising water rates by 15 percent with sewer rates going up by six percent with an indication that this may only be the start.
The city says the waterworks utilities are facing significant cost pressure right now because of the cost of water from the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant and those costs are expected to keep going up until the year 2021.
The city says it has applied for funding from several different programs which if successful could reduce the amount of future increases.
The increases take effect May 1.
