Well, yesterday I finally made it out to the shed. It wasn’t for my leaf blower, the patio chair cushions, or the lawn mower. This trip was to grab my sump pump.
We have some low lying areas in our back lawn where water will gather and sit until it decides it’s good and ready to seep into the ground. Looking at the lawn, you wouldn’t notice there was a dip until a good rainfall rolls in. However, with this quick melt we’ve been enjoying, the water has been gathering, but not seeping. Yesterday I thought I’d grab the sump pump and pump that excessive water out to the alley.
I haven’t used that thing since we had that big melt and flood in 2011, so, needless to say, it wasn’t in the most accessible part of our shed. As a matter of fact it had worked it’s way to the furthest corner. I had to pull so many things out of the shed to get to that darn pump that it looked like we were having a yard sale.
It worked like a charm. I decided yesterday that next to the leaf blower, this could be my favorite new shed toy.
Although it was fun to play with, hopefully I won’t have to use it for another 6 years.
