A teacher in Wakaw is facing professional misconduct charges after allegedly touching, grabbing or slapping the buttocks of five students over a four year span.
Lyle Gartner will appear next month at a meeting of the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board where if found guilty, he could be lose his teaching certificate.
It is alleged Gartner committed the incidents over a time period dating from September of 2011 to November of 2015 at the school and while on the road.
Gartner coached the senior girls team at the town’s high school for approximately 20 years with his teams winning multiple provincial high school championships.
The Horizon School Division says Gartner is no longer an employee at the school with his last day being September 28, 2015.
