Saskatoon Police are continuing to investigate an explosion in front of the provincial courthouse late Wednesday night.
A homemade device detonated shortly after 11:00 p.m. last night damaging the front entrance of the building
No one was injured in the explosion, however the Ministry of Justice says attacks like this need to be taken seriously.
Justice minister Gord Wyant says the incident will result in security being reviewed at all courthouses in the province where it is business as usual on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Saskatoon police provided an update on that explosion this morning.
Police inspector Randy Huisman would not say if they have any suspects at this time, and that the investigation is still into its initial stages.
Huisman acknowledged there is a “heightened interest and concern” among Saskatoon citizens and called the incident a “high priority for Saskatoon Police Service.”.
Meanwhile, Saskatoon’s Hazmat team was also dealing with another suspicious package downtown this morning.
Once again it was determined to be a non-threat.
