- Ituna, Sask. in final run to get the distinction of being named ‘Kraft Hockeyville’
Karla Sauve with the town of Ituna says everyone is on pins and needles as they await the announcement.
Sauve says the entire town has gotten behind the project with the Hockeyville logo present everywhere including a sign outside of the town because they feel as if win or lose that the whole experience has been a positive one.
The rink will be the place to be on Saturday as a number of activities are planned with the ice surface being covered so people can come in to watch the announcement on a big-screen TV.
A win would result in 100-thousand dollars which would be used to upgrade the arena, and the right to host an NHL pre-season game.
In its 11 year history, no Saskatchewan town has been named Hockeyville.
