Premier Brad Wall continues his trade mission to Washington this week.
On Tuesday, he had a chance to meet U.S. Environment Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt.
In a Facebook update, Wall says this trip is important in order to guard against protectionism in North America.
“So we’re here proactively pointing out that the Americans actually have a trade surplus with us,” said Wall. “There would be much to lose if they headed down that road. It very much goes to the issue of jobs in our country. Sustained jobs, for the future.”
Premier Wall says his discussion with Pruitt included energy-trading and protecting the environment. He says he will continue to make the case regarding free trade between Canada and the United States.
The premier says it will lead to more job creation in Saskatchewan.
