Saskatoon police have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for 31-year-old Amanda Totchek, also known as Alexa Emerson, in connection with six of eight recent incidents involving suspicious packages being sent to various local businesses, a cancer centre and a school.
In late November, envelopes containing an unknown white powdery substance were dropped off at locations in the city, prompting a large-scale emergency response and the shutdown of numerous areas.
Saskatoon police allege Totchek hired a man and woman to deliver one package at each of the locations, and say the two weren’t aware of the contents, which turned out to be baking soda and talcum powder.
It hasn’t been released as to which of the six incidents Totchek was involved in.
Police have said the two latest incidents are still under investigation.
Totchek is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, 119 pounds with long brown hair and hazel eyes.
Anyone with information on Totchek’s whereabouts is asked to contact Saskatoon police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
