This morning when I left the house for work I had a few more items in my hands than I usually have when I close the door behind me. This morning I brought along a Rider jersey and a dress jacket. No, I’m not playing a game of football before heading out to a sports dinner. Today is photo day at the station.
I used to love photo days at school. Everyone would get dressed up and then it would be off to the gymnasium for group and solo shots. I know my mom still has all of those photos, although I haven’t seen them in decades. My granddaughters still get excited enough about photo day to call us and let us know about it the day before it actually happens.
Our photographer is no stranger to me. Keith Hershmiller used to operate the Flea Market for Willy and I way back when. He was always a good kid. Now he’s a husband and father who owns a very successful photography business. His sister Kelly even worked here at the station for a while.
So, today I’ll smile and say cheese and let Keith do his thing. If he comes in early enough, maybe we’ll let him get behind the controls for the Flea Market one more time, for old times sake.
