The Swift Current Broncos have the Regina Pats on the ropes.
In what was a triple overtime thriller, the Broncos beat the Pats 5-4 as Glenn Gawdin won it on a power-play with 9:54 to go in the 3rd overtime giving Swift Current a 3-1 lead in the best of seven matchup.
The goal came seconds before Connor Hobbs was to come out of the penalty box as he was sent to the sin-bin after getting caught playing with a broken stick.
The loss ruined a spectacular night for Pats forward Dawson Leedahl who had all four Regina goals including the one that sent the game into overtime with just 20 seconds to play in regulation.
The teams will take Wednesday and Thursday off before resuming the best-of-seven at the Brandt Centre in a 7 o’clock start Friday night.
