Construction has started on a 24 million dollar fertilizer distribution centre west of Regina at Belle Plaine.
Bob Friesen with Genesis Grain and Fertilizer says the project is financed by 600 farmer members.
Construction on the 52 thousand ton facility should be complete by the end of the year.
He says farmers will own their own fertilizer distribution company, saving money with a state of the art facility.
It would be part of Project N, a two billion dollar fertilizer plant to be built near the distribution centre at Belle Plaine.
Genesis Grain and Fertilizer is a farmer-owned company led by the group Farmers of North America.
