Regina Pats goaltender Tyler Brown has been named the WHL Goalie of the Week for the week ending April 16/
The 19 year old was 2-2 over the last seven days with a 2.48 goals-against average, .930 save percentage and 159 saves over 290 minutes played as the Regina Pats erased a 3-1 series deficit to force a deciding Game 7 (Monday at 7 p.m. MT) in their second-round series with the Swift Current Broncos.
To this point in the 2017 WHL Playoffs, Brown is 7-3 with a 1.98 GAA and .935 SV%. He sits among the WHL Playoffs leaders in GAA (first), SV% (third), wins (T-2nd), minutes played (665 – fourth) and saves (315 – fourth).
Brown, who is in his third WHL campaign, went 33-8-5-1 with a 2.64 GAA, .911 SV% and five shutouts in 50 regular season appearances.
The 6-foot-1, 178-pound product of Winnipeg has gone 61-34-7-6 with a 2.94 GAA, .908 SV% and seven shutouts in 119 career WHL regular season appearances.
In 22 career WHL post-season contests, Brown is 14-8 with a 2.36 GAA, .925 SV% and two shutouts.
Brown and the Pats will look to utilize home ice as they host the Swift Current Broncos for a winner-take-all Game 7 to close out their second-round series Monday night (7 p.m. MT) at the Brandt Centre.
