It was a wintry Easter weekend for many residents in northern Saskatchewan.
A Montana-low mixed with an arctic wind-blast, brought snow and cold weather to places like Lloydminster, La Ronge, and Waskesiu Lake.
Some areas received over a foot of wet snow.
Mark Melsness with Enviroment Canada says heavy spring snowfall always come with a flooding concern.
“There is always a concern when you get a heavy dump of snow, followed by a quick melt,” sad Melsness. “And this snow was heavy. It was like a foot or more in some places. It was quite a wet snow as well and did pack quite a bit of water.”
Watches and warnings were issued Thursday and remained in place until Saturday morning.
