After the announcement of a handful of circuit courts across the province, the NDP is asking the government what sort of consultation was made before what they call “log jamming” of the justice system in Saskatchewan.
Justice Critic Nicole Saraeur equates the cuts to the court system to those which are hitting the education system
They clearly did not understand the consequences of the financial decisions they were making, and I fear we are going to see a similar result in the justice sector,” she said.
“It’s another example of them shooting first and aiming later,” she added.
The courts in Watrous, Carnduff, Big River and Southey are being shuttered, some as soon as Wednesday.
