It wasn’t a matter of “would it”, it was a matter of “how long would it take”.
Regina Pats fans were lined up outside the Brandt Centre ticket office at noon Tuesday when tickets for Games 1 and 2 of the Eastern Conference final went on sale, and they were quickly snapped up.
The Pats say all tickets for the games against either the Lethbridge Hurricanes or Medicine Hat Tigers Friday and Saturday night are gone as it took less than 10 minutes to sell out both.
The Pats, who had a franchise record 52 wins in the regular season, had to go the full seven games with the Swift Current Broncos before eliminating them Monday night with a 5-1 Game 7 victory to complete a comeback that saw them trailing the series at one time 3-1.
It was the first Game 7 played by the Pats since the Brandt Centre opened back in 1977 when it was known as the Agridome.
If you didn’t get tickets, 620 CKRM will have all games of the series as the Pats march towards what they hope is a WHL championship and a berth in the Memorial Cup.
