A 39 year old man from Kamsack received a $1,200 fine after being found guilty of two charges under the Saskatchewan Wildlife Act and Regulations.
Environment conservation officers received a call about a man hunting with a spotlight.
Officers stopped a vehicle and determined the man was hunting under Treaty rights, however he admitted to not having permission to hunt on that land.
It was also found that the hunting took place near a home that was unable to be seen in the darkness.
The man was found guilty of hunting within 500 meters of a residence and using s search light to hunt, as a result his firearm and spotlight were both forfeited.
