After registering his fourth top ten finish of the year at the RBC Heritage Classic last weekend, Graham DeLaet is taking this week off.
While DeLaet is still searching for his first win on the PGA Tour, the executive director of Golf Saskatchewan says his efforts on the course are paying off in this province.
Brian Lee feels more people are watching the game and perhaps taking up the game as they see the Weyburn native get some TV time as he did last weekend while vying for the title.
Lee says many young kids are seeing what DeLaet can do, and know if they put in the work and the time involved that they can be the next Graham DeLaet or one of the other Canadians on tour who have made an impact this season.
He adds DeLaet makes it his goal to come back and have clinics and other events for young golfers in Saskatchewan as he gives back.
One of those events is “The Graham Slam” which will go in Saskatoon in June.
Since starting in 2013, the Graham Slam has raise over one-million dollars for charitable organizations in Saskatchewan
