Last night I was making my way home from Assiniboia and was cruising along nicely on the #1 between Regina and Moose Jaw. It was a beautiful night for a drive, unlike the foggy drive out some 11 hours earlier. I had my cruise control set at 116 and was surprised at the light amount of traffic headed east. Everybody seemed to be headed in the other direction last night.
I always keep an eye on the rear view mirror while I’m driving so I’m aware what’s behind as well as ahead of me. Out of the blue I noticed this car racing up on my left. I don’t know where he came from, but he was moving. He was passing me like I was standing still, so he had to be going at least 130!
I thought to myself, where are the cops when you need them? I never see many of them on my travels to Assiniboia.
Less than 10 minutes later I pulled up to a cop with his lights flashing that had someone pulled over on the side of the road. I was thinking to myself, “I wonder if it’s that idiot that passed me earlier.” Sure enough, it was!
I don’t know where the guy was going, but apparently he must have been running behind schedule. After that stop, he was really running behind!
It’s back out to Assiniboia today for the last of my 3 day run for the Spring Fever Lotto. If you notice me on the highway, give me a honk and a wave, unless you’re going 130. In that case keep both hands on the wheel, and I’ll give you a honk when I drive by after the cops pull you over.
