Regina drivers who use the Ring Road at Victoria Avenue had traffic disruptions last year when the northbound overpass had some extensive construction work done on it.
The same will happen this year, starting Thursday, as work on the southbound overpass will start in a construction project expected to last until mid-September.
It means traffic in the area will be done to one lane in each direction on the northbound overpass.
The city’s director of transportation, Norman Kyle, feels the work done last year will speed up the work done this year as crews know what they are up against.
He adds that while there will be times when Victoria Avenue in the area will need to be closed altogether, there will be no weekend closures.
He says those closures will happen at night from 7 PM until 6 AM.
Cost of the project is 3 million dollars.
