The one word that states the obvious emotion around 620 CKRM today. Justin Trudeau is dropping by the studio.
Veteran reporter, Jim Smalley will sit down with the Prime Minister in what promises to be a folksy look at the state of Agriculture, Saskatchewan, NAFTA, carbon tax and many other things. Jim is quick to regale meeting Justin’s father Pierre Trudeau. So, I’m sure there will be a bit of story telling leading into the hard questions.
Jim, congratulations. I’m sure you’ll find it a rewarding experience.
The visit to Regina and especially a stop into CKRM is very special.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have staked out our business and given it a thorough once over, including a security dog. It is a front row view of the workings of the PM Security.

Now I don’t know, nor do I care what your political views are, when it comes right down to it, having the Prime Minister of Canada come to your work place is very neat.
Our province, not unlike any other, is populated by people that have strong opinions and they are not afraid to share them. Whether they are right or wrong, it’s important to be open minded to what other opinions are. The world is changing and I’m okay with being apart of that change.
Leaders of our country forge through attempting to do what they think is best, we have given them a time frame to prove that they either have what it takes or fall short of those benchmarks that were set out in campaign.
There are things that are happening, that we either don’t understand or we simply choose not to understand.
Legalization of marijuana, carbon tax, residential schools, immigration; water cooler talk makes for heated discussions and how do you answer or solve the questions.
People working together, hopefully guiding this young country in the right direction. So whether you are a history buff, political junkie or you seek celebrity, Prime Minister Trudeau has your attention. And the world is watching too.
Its a new world.
And oddly enough, the changing of the guard depends on whether you sit and complain, or get out there and do something.
Mr. Trudeau, welcome to Regina and 620 CKRM – you’ve got a pretty captive audience waiting to meet you!
