Three people are in custody and have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of La Ronge restaurant owner Simon Grant.
According to RCMP, they were all arrested without incident in the La Ronge area late Friday afternoon.
Two of the accused — a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy — cannot be named as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The third accused is 18-year-old Austin Bird.
RCMP have charged all three with second-degree murder; robbery while armed with a weapon; wearing a disguise with intent; using an imitation firearm in commission of offence; and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
On April 15, the three accused were involved in an under-five-minute armed robbery at Louisiana’s Bar-B-Que in La Ronge, where they assaulted Grant.
Two days later, Grant died in hospital from the injuries he sustained in the incident.
All three boys remain in police custody and will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
