CAA Saskatchewan is celebrating safety patrollers this week as part of the 27th Annual School Safety Patroller Jamboree.
This week has also been declared School Safety Patrol Week.
CAA’s Heather Laing says safety patrolling teaches many different people to adhere to the rules of the road while keeping kids safe.
“Making sure we know about traffic safety,” said Laing.” When is the best time to cross the street when our patrollers are on duty. So, thank you to the motorists for obeying the school patrollers who are on duty.”
CAA has lead safety patrollers since the program was created in 1951. Currently, there are around 4,400 patrollers in 155 schools in the province.
