The NDP is pushing for the elimination of big money corporate donations to political parties in Saskatchewan.
NDP critic David Forbes says corporations are getting tax breaks while the average person is facing rising taxes hinting corporate donations influence government decision making.
His proposal would also end union donations to political parties.
Finance minister Kevin Doherty says reduced corporate taxes are designed to create jobs noting the NDP reduced corporate taxes when they were in power.
Premier Brad Wall pointed out the number one contributor to the Saskatchewan NDP was the B.C. NDP, amounting to some seven thousand dollars.
Wall says the B.C. NDP funds may be only a simple donation. But he says there may be some expectations.
He says the B.C. NDP wants to kill steel-making jobs in Regina because of opposition to the proposed Trans-Mountain Pipeline.
