On RCA Records, Charley Pride is second in sales only to Elvis Presley. In 1993, he accepted a long-standing invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry, 26 years after he first played there as a guest, the first African-American in its over 70 year history. In 1994, Pride was honored by the Academy Of Country Music with its prestigious Pioneer Award. In 2000, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Later this year Charley will be presented by the Recording Academy with a special merit Lifetime Achievement award……… no one is more deserving than Charley.
