A near record construction season is about to begin on Saskatchewan highways.
The provincial government says work will be done on almost 1000 kilometers of road throughout the province over the next few months.
Highways minister David Marit says a majority of that work will consist towards the construction of the Regina Bypass, bypasses at Warman and Martensville along with twinning of Highway 7 and 39.
Motorists need to obey signs and flag persons and slow to 60 km/hr through the work zone. Drivers are reminded that they will face three times the normal fines for driving faster than 60 km/hr in work zones. It is also illegal to pass vehicles with flashing lights.
Drivers can also check the Highway Hotline for road construction prior to leaving for their destination.
