Yesterday morning when I went out to plug my parking meter at 9, I realized I wouldn’t have to. I already had a ticket! That was my second ticket in as many weeks. So, I left my ticket on my windshield, put my parking change back in my pocket and went back into work. There wasn’t much I could do at that point.
Not that long ago, the “meter readers” would start coming by at 9. I talked to one of the ticket people a couple of months ago and was warned that they were starting their rounds a little earlier every morning, but did I listen? Apparently not. This is the third ticket I’ve had in the last month and a half after going a year without one! Hey, this is starting to get a little expensive.
Three days cost me $60. That’s about what I plug in coins into the meter over the course of a month! It looks like I’m finally going to have to play their game and start plugging a little more every day and a little earlier every morning.
Oh well, it’s tough to get mad at anyone when there’s no one else to blame but me. The meter readers are just doing their jobs.
I’ll just have to train myself to hit the street at 8:30 now.
