A charge has been laid against a 25-year old man by Regina Police Service, in the city’s 2nd homicide which occured Sunday, May 14th.
25-year old Christopher Sean Pascal has been charged with 2nd degree murder and will appear in Provincial Court Friday.
46-year old James Nippi was identified Thursday evening as the victim.
Pascal has a history of violence in Saskatchewan. On May 15, a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Pascal.
Police said he had breached his long-term supervision order.
The order dates back to 2013 when Pascal was declared a long-term offender after he was convicted of violent sexual assault in Regina.
He received a 27-month sentence to be served in a federal penitentiary. A seven-year, long-term supervision order was imposed as well.
Regina Police say around 8:00 P.M. Sunday they were called to a home on the 1400 block of 12th Avenue for the report of an assault.
According to authorities, an assailant had entered the home and assaulted a resident with a weapon, then left the scene.
The victim died from his injuries.
