To say it was busy for Saskatoon Police Friday is an understatement.
Police received over 200 calls for service in a twelve hour period, between 5 p.m. Friday afternoon and 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
Early in the evening, the Tactical Support Unit was called out to assist the Guns and Gangs Unit in executing two high risk search warrants.
Other incidents include the Air Support Unit investigating a stolen vehicle in a farm yard.
That led to a high-speed chase which was terminated. However, police saw the vehicle hit a parked vehicle on Matheson Dr. at which time two suspects ran from the vehicle.
Police, along with K-9 took two suspects — ages 20 and 16 — into custody.
Saskatoon Police also dealt with a 5-vehicle hit and run collision in the 200 block of Stillwater Drive.
The suspect vehicle had been reported stolen and it hit several parked vehicles. At least 3 people were seen running from the stolen vehicle after the collision. No arrests have been made in this incident.
Just after 05:00 a.m., officers attended to St. Paul’s Hospital in relation to a 26 yr. old male suffering from 2 stab wounds to the chest and slash wounds to his arms.
This was not a random attack and a person of interest has been identified. The victim is listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing.
