The driver of a semi-truck that killed three boys from the town of Carrot River in May of 2015 has pleaded guilty.
17 year old Carter Stevenson, 14 year old Justin Gaja and 15 year old Kristian Skalicky were returning to Carrot River after being at a football camp when they were stopped at a construction zone on Highway 6.
The car they were in was hit from behind at a high rate of speed by 40 year old Normand Lavoie of Winnipeg killing all three and seriously injuring a flagperson who continues to recover from injuries sustained.
Lavoie pleaded guilty in a Melfort courtroom on Tuesday to three counts of dangerous driving causing death and one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
He will be sentenced August 22.
